In the bright new dawn
of a happy day
when dreams and plans are going my way
it’s easy to ignore
the sandy shore
resting ‘neath my feet
as I travel through life’s fray.
But when dark clouds rise
and give way to rain
when what I wanted goes down the drain
the message of the silt
is what I built
had no rock at all
to withstand the storms, the pain.
In the wake of truth
God beckons to me
“Surrender, my child, and see
My heart full of grace
is in this place
where only by faith
you can dwell eternally.”
